Who we are
Lavell’s Place is an organization devoted to bringing healing to those affected by trauma and equipping the Church to facilitate a community of healing in local bodies.
community and equipping
Our goal is to equip the Church to help those affected by trauma in their local bodies. We facilitate workshops using curriculum from The Trauma Healing Institute.
Healing
Lavell’s Place has a heart for seeing God’s children made whole. To that end, we regularly hold workshops designed to inform people about trauma and what God truly thinks about the hard things in our lives. We are not counselors; rather, we partner with mental health professionals in the community to help the Body of Christ recognize and work through trauma.
Community
Lavell’s Place serves as a space for the various members of the Church to fellowship with each other. We believe that we live best in community, so we want to create space for families to experience the feeling of coming home. We regularly hold events where families can grab some food, play in God’s creation, and find others in the Body that are on the same journey.
Respite
Lavell’s Place serves as a safe place where caregivers for those affected by trauma can find rest. We are carving out space for those in the trenches of facilitating healing. While we are not a shelter, we do seek to provide a safe place for people to get space, find peace, and come to a place where they may more effectively help those in the Body affected by trauma.
